Sidney Opera

Not visiting the famous Opera in Sidney can be considered a crime. It consists of a large concert hall with a capacity of over 2500 people, and provides the best acoustics in the world. The building was completed in 1973. On Sunday afternoon is an interesting area because there are many shows of all kind around. The Opera is open to visitors daily from 09.00 to 17.00. The tours usually last an hour. The box office tickets for the shows usually open Monday to Saturday from 09.00 to 20.30 hours and on Sundays two hours before the shows. The guided tour costs 35 Australian dollars for adults.

After these visits we can relax in the green lung of the city, its Botanical Garden , created in 1816, containing over 7500 species of plants. It is located at the southeast of the Opera.

Getting to Sidney

Trains to Sidney

Trains to Sidney run every ten minutes and the journey takes about 13 minutesy. The airport railway station is just below the Terminal 1.

Transport in Sidney

Sydney has a very good bus network , trains and ferries, making very easy to get around the city and its surroundings. The bus network is the largest and cheapest public transport, however it can be a bit slow due to heavy traffic in the city.

A ferry provides one of the best views of Sydney and its bay, taxis are also plentiful and very cheap.
